AARP

AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50 and over. They are dedicated to enhancing quality of life for all as we age. They lead positive social change and deliver value to members through information, advocacy and service.

Administraion on Aging

The Administration on Aging (AoA) is the Federal agency responsible for advancing the concerns and interests of older people and their caregivers. AoA works with and through the Aging Services Network to promote the development of a comprehensive and coordinated system of home and community-based long-term care that is responsive to the needs and preferences of older people and their family caregivers.

Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research. It works on a global, national and local level to enhance care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias. The Alzheimer’s Association has local chapters across the nation, providing services within each community.

American Cancer Society

Their mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. They lead the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected by diabetes.

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association’s mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Caregiver Action Network

The Caregiver Action Network educates, supports, empowers and speaks up for the more than 65 million Americans who care for loved ones with a chronic illness or disability or the frailties of old age.

The Center for Social Gerontology

TCSG helps society adapt to the dramatic increase in the numbers of old and very old, and to insure that older persons at all socio-economic and health levels are able to meet their needs and use their talents and abilities in a changing society.

Eldercare Locator

The Eldercare Locator, a public service of the Administration on Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is a nationwide service that connects older Americans and their caregivers with information on senior services.

Family Caregiver Alliance

Family Caregiver Alliance is a public voice for caregivers, illuminating the daily challenges they face, offering them the assistance they so desperately need and deserve, and championing their cause through education, services, research and advocacy.

American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry

The American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry raises awareness of psychiatric and mental health disorders affecting the elderly, eliminates the stigma of mental illness and treatment, promotes healthy aging strategies, and increases access to quality mental health care for the elderly.

Hospice Foundation of America

Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) conducts programs of professional development, public education and information, research, publications and health policy issues. Their programs for health care professionals assist those who cope either personally or professionally with terminal illness, death, and the process of grief, and are offered on a national or regional basis. Their programs for the public assist individual consumers of health care who are coping with issues of caregiving, terminal illness, and grief.

National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA)

The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) is a professional association of over 4,200 attorneys who are dedicated to improving the quality of legal services provided to seniors and people with special needs. NAELA members assist their clients with public benefits, probate and estate planning, guardianship/conservatorship, and health and long-term care planning, among other important issues.

Aging Life Care Association (ALCA)

(formerly National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers) ALCA is a volunteer nonprofit association with over 2,000 Professional Geriatric Care Managers (PGCMs). These PGCMs are health and human services specialists who help families care for older relatives, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
