Options for Senior America has specialized in non-medical home care services for senior adults for over 28 years. OPTIONS offers four great programs to choose from; "Live-Out", "Live-In", "Live-In Plus" and our "IL Plus" program. Our "Live-Out" hourly services provide Aides to assist care recipients in their homes from 4 hours to 24 hours a day. Our popular "Live-In" program provides peace of mind to our care recipients by providing a caregiver that moves in on a long term basis at a more cost effective cost than by the hour. The "Live-In Plus" program includes an additional Aide over night for care recipients that wake up frequently. Our "IL Plus" program is available in some independent living communities to provide 15 min incremental care to Care Recipients that just need a little extra help.
OPTIONS provides personal care and companionship support to meet your loved ones individual needs. Many of our care recipients come to us at a stage when they are beginning to need help at home for the first time. Others are more advanced in age and more dependent on continuous assistance. Whether it is Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, M.S., Parkinson's, stroke, hospice care, or rehabilitation following a joint replacement or broken limb, we are ready to help.
We assist our care recipients with activities of daily living (ADLs). Most of our clients are senior adults, though we are generally available to any adult who might benefit from our services, regardless of age. Typical areas in which our caregivers provide assistance are:
Not every family needs us for all of the above tasks. After evaluating the care recipients precise needs, we help the family determine what services are best for their loved one.
Options can help during transition period from hospital to home, from home to a community or any setting, on a short-term basis from overnight emergency care to few days. We understand that emergencies do come up no matter how much we plan in advance. We can also assist when extra help is needed during outpatient surgeries or medication changes. We will assist with doctor follow- up visits during this critical period to help avoid re-admission to the hospital.
What sets us apart? We are reliable, flexible, cost effective and "PATIENT CENTERED"!
From the start, we know that we need to react quickly to client needs, and that circumstances frequently require a fast response. Today, we are able to respond within 24 hours or less. Families deal directly with the owner, Evelyn Yalung, who will meet with the care recipient and family members for a free initial assessment. She and our registered nurse will also visit regularly once the service has started to establish a strong rapport and communication with the care recipient and their family to ensure their needs are met. We also help families set up additional services such as home safety evaluations, renovations, doctor's appointments, home organization, etc. Our care providers go through a criminal background check, skills assessment and personality assessments to ensure they match our client's needs. We are licensed, bonded, insured and carry workers' comp insurance.
We, at Options for Senior America-Burlington, have a passion for seniors and want to see seniors live an active, productive life no matter what they may be facing. With our supportive, experienced caregivers, we want our senior population to also be able to remain at home, wherever home may be.
Evelyn Yalung, the owner of Options Burlington, felt a calling to do something with her life that made a true difference and impact in the lives of seniors after a life changing event with her grandmother. She has been leading Options since 2009 from the Burlington office after over 31 years of Corporate experience in the health care and technology industries. We lead with our hearts to provide the compassion and care that clients need.
Lana Benton leads our clinical team, does all of the needs assessments and develops our clients’ plan of care tailored to their specific needs. She brings 27 years of nursing experience in intensive care, hospice, oncology, assisted living and home care. Tina is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner and can assist with educating caregivers at home and in the community.
Maria Williams manages our office and coordinates our caregivers and their schedules, making sure we have the right match for our seniors. Maria has years of experience in rest home, family care home, dementia/Alzheimer’s, behavioral and special needs care.
Jered Yalung is our VP of marketing and operations. He is a licensed pharmacist with years of experience in the geriatric long term care community. We believe Options operates as a hands on family business. He is also Evelyn Yalung's son! With his unique skill set, he can truly separate Options from the rest.
Though the majority of our patients require care to be provided in the comfort of their own home, Options For Senior America is equipped to provide care for your loved one even if they no longer live at home.
