As a long-term care pharmacist, I spent years supporting seniors in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities—ensuring safe medication practices and coordinating with care teams behind the scenes. While I loved the clinical side of medicine and continue to apply that expertise today, I felt a growing need to work more directly with families and the individuals receiving care. Home care gave me that opportunity.
What drew me to this work was the ability to have immediate impact—to see firsthand how the right support can improve someone’s quality of life and bring peace of mind to loved ones. It’s personal.
That is why it is our mission to provide dependable, personalized care that improves lives and brings peace of mind. Whether it’s through our own caregivers or by connecting you with the right resource elsewhere, we’re committed to doing what’s best for the families we serve. You can expect a hands-on team that communicates clearly, responds quickly, and always goes the extra mile.
Working with our Burlington office is straightforward: call to discuss needs, we confirm coverage and schedule an RN assessment before services begin.

Home health care focuses on medical treatment and is a clinical service. A nurse or therapist comes to the home for skilled services such as wound care, injections, occupational or physical therapy, usually for a short period after surgery or illness, with a doctor’s order.
In-home senior care is very different. In-home senior care focuses on supporting Activities of Daily Living, which include basic self-care tasks like bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring, and continence.
At Options Home Care, we provide hands-on help with everyday life. That includes bathing, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, companionship, memory care, and ongoing support. It is not limited to a medical episode. Care is built around helping your loved one live safely and comfortably at home long-term.
What sets us apart is that we do more than simply send a caregiver. We create a personalized care plan, coordinate discharge planning when your loved one returns home from the hospital, and provide daily personal care, live-in care, and respite care as needed. Our AI-enhanced in-home senior care tools also help families stay connected and informed while their loved one remains independent at home.
Rather than only supporting a condition, we support the whole person.
Activities of Daily Living, often called ADLs, are basic self-care tasks that a person must be able to perform to live independently. These typically include:
ADLs matter because many benefits programs use them to determine eligibility. Most long-term care insurance policies require that a person need assistance with at least two ADLs before benefits begin. Certain veterans’ programs require assistance with three ADLs to qualify for in-home senior care services.
If your loved one is struggling with these daily tasks, we can help assess their needs and guide you through the next steps for coverage and care planning.
Live-in care involves one caregiver who stays in the home and provides consistent support throughout the day and night. They assist with personal care, meals, mobility, companionship, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and transportation. The caregiver rests overnight but remains available if needed.
With 24-hour care, multiple caregivers rotate in shifts, with different staff coming in and out of the home throughout the day and night.
At Options Home Care, live-in care offers a more personal, consistent experience. Your loved one works with the same caregiver each day, building trust and familiarity instead of adjusting to a rotating team. This approach supports both emotional comfort and daily stability.
We also provide full support beyond basic care, including meal planning, mobility assistance, and companionship. If your loved one is returning home after a hospital stay, we help coordinate that transition to make it as smooth as possible.
For many families, live-in care offers a strong balance of continuity, connection, and dependable support at home.
At Options Home Care, we accept private pay, long-term care insurance, and Medicare Part C Advantage Plans.
Long-term care insurance is designed to help cover extended support with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility. These policies are usually purchased in advance, often earlier in life, and are intended for ongoing care rather than short-term medical treatment.
Our team works directly with all long-term care insurance companies to verify your coverage, initiate your claim, document services, and guide you through the reimbursement process so you can focus on care rather than paperwork.
Many of our veteran clients receive care through the VA’s Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care program. This program is part of VA health benefits and provides non-medical assistance in the home to help veterans remain safe and independent. Services typically include help with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other daily activities.
As an accredited VA community care provider, Options Home Care can be paid directly by the VA to provide approved in-home senior care services.
To qualify, veterans must:
Once approved, we work closely with the VA and the assigned social worker to deliver consistent, personalized care at home. We can also help you through the application process.
Some veterans and surviving spouses might also qualify for additional support through programs such as VA Aid and Attendance, which can help cover non-medical in-home senior care costs depending on service history, discharge status, care needs, and financial guidelines.
In many cases, care can begin within 24 to 48 hours, depending on your needs and caregiver availability. If your loved one is being discharged from the hospital or you are facing an urgent situation, our team of professional caregivers moves quickly to assess needs, build a care plan, and coordinate services so support is in place as soon as possible.

In-home care allows seniors to remain in familiar surroundings while receiving exceptional care tailored to their daily needs. Instead of moving into an assisted living facility, they can continue their routines with support from trained caregivers who help with mobility, meals, and daily tasks. This approach helps maintain independence while improving comfort and overall quality of life.
