Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my grandma before she passed away. Absolutely professional, compassionate and above and beyond care. We had peace that she was in good hands at the moments we couldn’t be there. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Meet Michael Routen, Community Relations Director

Bringing Trusted Senior Care to Granbury, Texas

I am originally from Dearborn, Michigan, where I was raised with a strong emphasis on family values, frequently assisting my grandparents with daily chores and activities. In 1986, my immediate family and my remaining grandmother relocated to Texas. She resided with us until her care needs surpassed what we could provide, at which point she transitioned to a nursing home until her passing. I strongly feel that her ability to remain in our home and be part of our vibrant family life as long as she did contributed to her extended health and happiness compared to many of my friends’ grandparents.

I began my career in Texas in the real estate industry, working as a real estate agent and office manager. In the late 1980s, I transitioned to the corporate sector, where I utilized my skills to lead and develop teams, guiding them to achieve their full potential while providing exceptional service to clients and customers.

Over the past 35 years, I have held senior leadership positions, focusing on creating productive and supportive team environments. I am proud of the significant success and professional growth achieved by my teams under my leadership. This year, I decided to transition from the corporate world to find an opportunity where I could apply my extensive experience and skills to give back to the community. My goal is to provide the same level of care and companionship to others that I was fortunate to offer my grandparents.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management from the University of Texas at Arlington.

In my personal time, I enjoy camping, fishing, motorsports, and am currently exploring golf and pickleball.

Meet Kellie Routen, In-Home Care Director

I am originally from Arlington, Texas. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington and have dedicated much of my career to the corporate sector.

After several years of planning for our future, my husband, Mike, and I discovered Options for Senior America. Our personal experiences have fueled our enthusiasm for this opportunity. My grandmother lived with my family during the last seven years of her life, and I believe her quality of life could have been greatly enhanced with proper in-home support. Similarly, my mother struggled with macular degeneration and general aging, which made it challenging for her to remain in her own home and accept assistance. We recognized that Options for Senior America would have been an ideal solution for both. These experiences have shaped our mission to provide exceptional support to our care recipients, care providers, and the communities we serve.

In my personal time, I enjoy playing cards and dominoes, working on puzzles, listening to music, quilting, watching movies, attending concerts, traveling in our RV, visiting my niece and her family in Amarillo, and spending time with our four young adults and our first grandchild, born in June 2023.
