Personal Care; Companionship; Live-in Services; Respite Care
For over 33 years, Options for Senior America has specialized in non-medical home care services for senior adults. From the start, we know we need to react quickly to client needs, and that circumstances frequently require a fast response. Today, we are able to respond within 24 hours or less. Families deal directly with the owner, Christine McGovern, who will meet with the care recipient and family members for a free initial assessment. She and our registered nurse will also visit regularly once the service has started to establish a strong rapport and communication with the care recipient and their family to ensure their needs are being met. We also help families set up additional services such as home safety evaluations, renovations, doctor's appointments, home organization, etc. Our care providers go through an extensive criminal background check (updated every two years), skills assessment and personality assessments to ensure they match our client's needs. We are licensed, bonded, insured and carry workers' comp insurance.
At Options for Senior America-Wayne, we have a passion for seniors and want them live an active, productive life no matter what they may be facing. With our supportive, experienced caregivers, we want our senior population to be able to remain at home, wherever home may be.
Why Choose OPTIONS
PROGRAMS AVAILABLE
OPTIONS offers three great programs to choose from; "Live-Out", "Live-In", and "Live-In Plus". Our "Live-Out" hourly services provide Aides to assist care recipients in their homes from 4 hours to 24 hours a day. The "Live-In" program, which we pioneered in 1989, has been perfected over the years to provide peace of mind to our care recipients and their families by providing a caregiver to "live-in" on a long term basis. "Live-In" is one of our most popular and cost effective solutions. The "Live-In Plus" program includes an additional Aide over night for care recipients that wake up frequently.
SERVICES WE OFFER
OPTIONS provides personal care and companionship support to meet your loved ones individual needs. Many of our care recipients come to us at a stage when they are beginning to need help at home for the first time. Others are more advanced in age and more dependent on continuous assistance. Whether Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, M.S., Parkinson's, stroke, hospice care, or rehabilitation following a joint replacement or broken limb, we are ready to help.
We assist our care recipients with activities of daily living (ADLs). Most of our clients are senior adults, though we are generally available to any adult who might benefit from our services, regardless of age. Typical areas in which our caregivers provide assistance are:
Not every family needs us for all the above tasks. After evaluating the care recipients precise needs, we help the family determine what services are best for their loved one.
TRANSITION CARE:
Options can help during transition period from hospital to home, from home to a community or other setting, on a short-term basis from overnight emergency care to a few days. We will assist with doctor follow-up visits during this critical period to help avoid re-admission to the hospital.
What sets us apart? We are reliable, flexible, cost effective and patient centered!
Christine McGovern is the owner of Options for Senior America – Wayne. After experiencing the stress of trying to find quality care for her father following a hospital stay, Christine felt a calling to align her life’s work to providing high-quality non-medical services to seniors in her community. Christine’s passion is helping families find solutions to their caregiving needs so their loved ones can age gracefully and with dignity in the comfort of their own home.
Christine serves as the Community Relations Director, working with care recipients and/or their families to understand their needs and find solutions 24/7. Prior to opening Options, Christine spent 28 years in the financial services industry where she designed investment portfolios to help individuals and institutions achieve their investment goals. Christine has an MBA in Finance from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Administration from Northern Illinois University. When Christine is not serving clients or care recipients, she enjoys running, golfing and playing pickleball. Christine lives in Newtown Square with her husband (Jim), four children (Julia, Jimmy, Ella and Mason) and her two dogs Fabio and Piper.
Patti’s interest in senior home care stems from her experience, providing “live-in” and “live-out” home care for her mother for 16 years following a debilitating stroke. Patti comes from a large family who took this responsibility very seriously!
Patti is returning to the work force after 8 years of caring for her 4 grandchildren, (Jack, Nolan, Willow and Luna). Prior to joining Options for Senior America, Patti worked in higher education for 20 years, serving students as an advisor at Montgomery County Community College and more recently at Peirce College in Philadelphia.
Patti is the mother of three adult children, (Shannon, Drew & Brian) and loves spending time with her children and their growing families. Patti lives in Havertown with her husband of 40 years, Paul and their 12 year old puppy, “Clashmore Mike”.
Though the majority of our patients require care to be provided in the comfort of their own home, Options For Senior America is equipped to provide care for your loved one even if they no longer live at home.
